AS A CHILD MY GRANDMA WAS AN ACCOUNTANT. I LOVED BEING AROUND HER DESK SORTING PAPERS, DRAWING ON NOTEPADS, AND PLAYING WITH HER CALCULATOR. I DREAMED I WOULD BE AN ACCOUNTANT ONE DAY – JUST LIKE HER.
But when I became pregnant at 19, I needed a career and fast.
My mom was a cosmetologist and this line of work was familiar to me, so I followed in her footsteps. I wouldn’t change a thing about my past, but owning my own salon was never my plan.
As a salon owner, I always enjoyed the business side of things more than working behind-the-chair as a stylist.
When COVID hit and salons shut down nationwide, I knew it was the perfect time for me to take the leap and pursue something I've always wanted to do – become a professional bookkeeper.
Almost exactly one year after the start of COVID I opened My Virtual Bookkeeper, LLC for cleaning companies and other service-based businesses.
Since this time I’ve been growing my business and helping others like you do the same.
